NUL MADE APP TRICKS ONLINE THIEVES

The National University of Lesotho (NUL) computer scientist, Napo Mosola and his student, Mokhutli Letsae, are creating and testing an application that prevents crooks from stealing and using your information online. To do this, he just needs a picture of your face!

This is happening as NUL computer experts get deeper and deeper into Artificial Intelligence.

Abstract

This paper deals with nonlinear diffusion problems which include the Stefan problem,

"HAVE WE BECOME SLOW TO GIVE NAMES?” ASKS NUL STUDENT OF LINGUISTICS

The on-going study by the National University of Lesotho (NUL) Linguistics Masters student, Maky Letsie, was sparked by a whatsApp message from a friend (Refiloe Lephoi). Basotho, according to the message, call ATM “mochine,” laptop “mochine,” pencil sharpener “mochine,” nail cutter “mochine,” beautiful car “mochine,” washing machine, “mochine,” and a good student, “mochine.”

Of course there is nothing wrong with "mochine" since “all the above words have a machine-like element in them,” Maky said. “But can we introduce variety when giving names?”

NUL INTRODUCES OVER 30 NEW PROGRAMS

The National University of Lesotho (NUL) has developed over 30 programmes and some have been offered a probationary accreditation status until the year 2023.

This was said by King Letsie III, Chancellor of the university, when delivering remarks at the 3rd annual general meeting of the 13th Council of the university held at Roma campus on Monday.

The King said two programmes have been offered full accreditation adding that these programmes have been developed during the term of office of the current Council.
