HOW TO BE A MEMBER OF PHUTHALICHABA SAVINGS AND CREDIT SOCIETY LTD UNDER NUL INNOVATION HUB

 

A. INTRODUCTION

PhuthaLichaba is a lending and credit cooperative, registered under the Department of Cooperatives in the Ministry of Small Businesses (its temporary but official name is Roma Savings and Credit Society). It is one of the many businesses being incubated under the NUL Innovation Hub.

It is meant to grow into an investment body that will enable Basotho to have a shareholding in the NUL's rapidly developing innovative businesses. Any Mosotho who lives anywhere in Lesotho, but who has a bank account can join the cooperative.

Abstract

This article analyses accordion songs of the Basotho people as small narratives of self-identity. The songs are constructions of the way the singers think of and experience themselves as Basotho, of their home country, Lesotho.

KNOW ABOUT NUL'S MOSHOESHOE INSTITUTE

 

In 2015, the National University of Lesotho (NUL) turned 70 years and embarked on its first home grown introspection. From this exercise, a consensus was reached to establish Moshoeshoe I Institute of Peace and Leadership; to contribute to a culture of servant leadership and culture of peace through research and teaching and training of new crop of national and regional leaders who exude the values of Morena Moshoeshoe I. In 2018, the intitute began its work of cultivating servant leadership, empathy, peace and nation building.

 

NUL HOLDS GENDER DIALOGUE

 

The National University of Lesotho (NUL), through the Gender Steering Committee hosted a Gender Dialogue on the 28th November, 2019.

This event also marked the launch of the University’s process of developing an institutional gender policy that will ensure that the University lives up to its mandate, as stated in the NUL strategic plan 2015 - 2020.

Being a developing country with around 50% of people living just above the poverty line, Lesotho has great ambition to improve its education system and to also innovative and exploit the use of its local resources and talents.

NULIS STUDENTS ASSIST NUL INNOVATION HUB



The two brilliant National University of Lesotho (NUL) International School (NULIS) students , who have just written Grade 10 Junior Certificate Board Exams are Utsuk Narayan and Mufarowashe Muringani.

They are young Lesotho Ambassadors of a Singapore based Business Software Company called DeskEra. After intensely studying the software, the technology gurus, who have already developed some Apps already being used at their school, approached the NUL Innovation Hub.

"We have found a software that perfectly fits your business models," they said.
