APPLY TO STUDY CONSUMER SCIENCE, TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY AT THE NUL [2020 – 2021]

The Consumer Science and Hospitality of the Faculty of Agriculture – National University of Lesotho (NUL) is an undergraduate programme aimed at providing both national and international students with higher quality education through full time studies.

The programme is designed to offer a variety of courses that provide a wider scope of a self-sustaining innovation and job-creation education to produce relevant manpower that is equipped with entrepreneurial skills and proficiency in sustainable management of resources. The courses offered provide practical skills that help improve the employment prospects of the graduates.

The teaching methods employed for studies include: Lecturing, discussion, group work, demonstrations, field work, practicals.

This programme focuses on the consumers and the products they consume. Presently, Consumer Science and Hospitality at NUL has four sections namely:

¨ Foods and Nutrition
¨ Textile and Fashion design
¨ Tourism and Hospitality
¨ Interior/events design and decoration

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

· At least 4 credits and a minimum of 2 passes in LGCSE/COSC.

· Completed common BSc first year (Agriculture, Science and Health Science) but wishes to apply for Consumer Science

· Common BSc first year (Agriculture, Science and Health Science) with at least a pass in 1 Science and two other subjects

· Passed Diploma in Home Economics or any NUL approved diploma with at least a pass in Mathematics.

Fashion and Fabrics, Food and Nutrition, Tourism and Hospitality, Marketing management and related courses will be an added advantage for admission.
