Professor Mafa Sejanamane, former National University of Lesotho (NUL) Pro Vice Chancellor and former acting Vice Chancellor, who is now Lesotho’s ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union (AU) and UNECA, gave a whopping M20, 000 to the NUL Innovation Hub to assist a startup called Modest Textiles. This he did as an individual and out of his love for the NUL Innovation Hub and its vision.

Known specifically for his track record of changing the face of NUL for the better during his long tenure at the esteemed University and for his ability to get things done, Professor Sejanamane said he was a bit surprised when he first took a tour of the Hub and saw how much progress had been made in such a short period of time.

Welcoming Professor Sejanamane was Professor Olusola Fajana, the NUL Vice Chancellor, who thanked Professor Sejanamane for such an amazing gift out of good heart. He said indeed NUL Innovation Hub was at the centre of NUL’s efforst to rebrand itself as an Entrepreneurial University of its kind in the region.

Modest Textiles is a company that aims to revolutionize Lesotho’s textile industry and put it into the hands of Basotho by creating mass production tools that Lesotho based clothing producers need. The company will use the money to buy more machines that will put it closer to its objectives
