THE GERMAN RESEARCH FOUNDATION, DFG, AWARDS A M1 MILLION GRANT TO THE TRILATERAL COLLABORATION OF ERC, TECHNISCHE HOCHSCHULE INGOLSTADT (GERMANY) AND EDUARDO MONDLANE UNIVERSITY (MOZAMBIQUE)

The German Research Foundation, Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), has awarded slightly over M1 million (61,000 Euros) to support the initiation of international collaboration between the Energy Research Centre (ERC), Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt – Institute of new Energy Systems (InES, Germany) and Eduardo Mondlane University (Mozambique).

The funds are meant to help the collaboration meet the logistical costs of travel and subsistence as they hop between the three countries for meetings and workshops to pursue grants to help study and address the Technological and Socio-Economic Factors hindering the use of Solar PV based mini-grids in Sub-Saharan Africa with focus on Lesotho and Mozambique.

Yes, you heard that right, we got granted funds to help meet the expenses of preparing research proposals. We are all looking forward to a long term collaboration led by the vibrant team of Prof. Wilfried Zoerner (Head of InES), depicted in the photo below.
